have a GOOD weekend

Hi everyone, its the week before easter, so this is the weekend to do it!

and as Shez has said in a comment earlier - its ONLY TWO DAYS - that we need to focus on! get through them and the other days are a breeze!

Plan your weekend tonight if you havent already done so in your weekly plan and - STICK to it! Get in some incidental and work out exercise over the two days and look after yourself, you have all done so well and we're on the home strait, dont lose site of that - or of how far you've come.

If thats all you do for me this weekend, think about how far you've come, not what you have still to lose!

Not bad!

Hello ladies,

Well I can report a loss of 0.5kg this week. I'm cool with that considering I had a weekend where a lot of bad choices were made! Read: pizza, chocolate, beer, cheese and biccies... I am having a pretty quiet weekend this weekend, so I hope to overturn the trend of my bad weekends!

I have 7 weeks to lose 4.5kg- well thats what I hope to do to get to goal before I go back to the UK to visit friends and family (in-laws). So I hope to have a really good week this week, to knock a bit more off that amount, as I have to face Easter at my family's next weekend! Oh dear, there will be temptations galore!

Hope you all have a great weekend, and best of luck for weigh-ins next week x

Tuesday, March 27, 2007

Finally - a great week!! I took a few days off training due to an achilles injury, but that's all fixed now.. and I lost 1.5kg last week!! Woohoo. I had dropped my calorie intake to around 1250, and I was pretty strict on it, so I'm sure that's what made the difference. I did have one night out to dinner for Thai food, so I'm very happy with my result!! What about everyone else??

Another Week Down

Hi everyone. Hope you all had lovely weekends... I ended up out both nights after work, so am a wee bit tired this morning! Drove both nights, so didn't drink much, but was out til 4am Friday night, and 3am (factoring in change of time) Saturday so not a whole lot of sleeping was done! On the weigh-in front, I'm down at about 58.2kg this week, so a 1kg loss. Must've been the dancing I did on Friday and Saturday!! I don't like being quite so far from 60kg though... think I need to stick to about 59kg cause I've had a few people ask my ex what's wrong with me and whether I'm on drugs because I've lost so much weight... I know it's all about how I feel, but yeah. Don't want to look sickly!

Hope you all have a great week. xx

Major slip-up but still got a result

Hello Ladies,

Hope you all had a great week. Congrats on your fab losses this week as well! I can report a 1kg loss for this week, but I didn't do myself any favours to achieve that loss. I had a very stressful time at work this week, and decided the only way I could cope was to eat lollies- I managed about a packet and half's worth :( But I put in a massive effort at the gym to counteract it, plus I think the loss of some PMT bloat contributed to the week's overall loss. To cope with stress in the future at work, which I think will only get worse, is to buy some calming teas, as I love tea- I think the stuff is magic! I was proud of myself that I didn't get mad at myself for eating lollies but got even instead, taking it out on myself exercise-wise!

Hope you all have great weekend burning up those rotten fat molecules! xo

Halfway there!

OK - back on track! Lost the same 700g I found last week, so back to 94. I'm okay with that. Will be stricter on my calorie intake this week - dropped to 1400 from 1550 last week, but had a completely SHOCKING week with cravings, jelly snakes and chocolate... not sure if that's a sign to be stricter, or to increase the calories again. Also had more carbs than usual, and it makes me want MORE! I think, as with most things, moderation is not me. I'm better to go without than try to police myself.

Now getting right into my HR monitor, and aiming to burn at least 500 calories/day, or 3000/week, allowing for one rest day. Small issue with my R achilles tendon, but I'm hitting the nurofen and icing it. One of my training buddies did a hamstring this morning, so fingers crossed we don't have any more injuries! Would love to add some swimming to my routine, but I have REALLY curly hair, and have to blowdry it straight every time I wash it.. pain in the you know what to go swimming! Maybe I'll just add it once a week and see how it goes. Would love to add an aqua aerobics class or deep water running, just need to find out where they do it. Might try north sydney olympic pool.

Had my last day at work today, as well as TTOM - so feeling rather emotional and "give me sugar!"-y. I may not resist, but I'll stick within my calorie limit EVERY day this week. Work drinks and dinner this Friday, so have to save up some bonus calories through extra exercise. Also limit alcohol intake, as that's what got me last week.

Good luck for weigh in everyone - the challenge is halfway over!!!!!!!!

GETTING THERE!

Hi everyone,

Well the good news is, I lost 1kg this week. Yeah ! I was pretty strict with my eating, (mostly)but I know that I could have done better if I had exercised more. All I really done was a fair bit of walking. So this week my aim is to do a half hour of running (or jogging) a day and at least 200 sit ups maybe every second day as well as some arm exercises. Does anyone know of good exercises for getting rid of lower back fat coz even though I am not too far from goal, I still have this big hangover of flab when I wear my jeans.

Another question, for anyone at goal or near it, do you now feel totally happy with your appearance or is there that wee bit inside you that still feels not quite satisfied?
I'm asking because although I know in my head that I'm doing good and lighter than I was 6 months ago,I still have low days that I feel bigger than I am. Maybe its because for so long, losing weight has been a main focus in my mind . I dont know, sorry for the ramble. Prob not even making sense.

Anyway girls, good luck for your weigh ins - I look forward to hearing them.
Karrie x

Weigh In

Morning all. Sorry I didn't check in last week. Have had a lot going on! I'm still managing to maintain around my goal weight... down to 59.2kg this week, so 800g off from last week's 60kg. I seem to be staying between 59-60kg pretty consistently, which I'm happy about! It's now a month since I reached goal. Wow, that's hard to believe!!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and the scales are kind to you this week!

RESULTS ARE IN - AFTER 5 WEEKS

Okay here goes! You all did as I asked and had an awesome crack this week and we got our best combined loss since week 1!! Combined we lost 7.4 kilos this week which is fantastic!

ALL UP NOW WE HAVE LOST A COMBINED WEIGHT LOSS OF 26.6 KILOS (and that includes any gains any of us are guilty of having!)

I honestly thought i was a shoe in for the biggest loser this week after a whopping 2.4 kilos lost, little did i know that good old helen was going to pull something bigger - 3.2 kilos - thats HUGE! WELL DONE HELEN FOR BEING OUR BIGGEST LOSER THIS WEEK!

To date our biggest loser is - ooh i just looked - its me! yey! I have lost 4.7 kilos in the 5 weeks and thats with a big gain in week 2 of 1.3+ so it can be done even after weeks like that! this week saved me anyway!!!

I will firstly list this weeks losers - followed by losses to date - and how far off our biggest loser goals we are! I hope your all very proud of what youve done just in the last month or so! its so achievable when you stick with the program and have the support of each other to get there!

THIS WEEKS RESULTS

HELEN 3.2 LOST
Jenna 2.4 LOST
Carly 900g LOST
Wendy 600g LOST
Chrissy 600g LOST
Cacher 200g LOST
Karrie 200g LOST

Other than that we only had two gainers - that will have big losses this week, and three who maintained! Great team effort guys well done!

LOSSES TO DATE - HOW FAR TO BL ONLINE GOAL WEIGHT (please remember everyone had individual goals so the amounts remaining will differ, depending on indiv weights and what we wanted to each achieve.)

Jenna LTD 4.7 KILOS - 2.9 off target
Helen LTD 3.5 KILOS - 6.5 off target
Cacher LTD 2.9 KILOS - 6.6 off target
Karrie LTD 1.4 KILOS - 3.6 off target
Cheryl LTD 1.6 KILOS - 1.4 off target
Gen LTD 2 KILOS - 6 off target
Wendy LTD 800g - 5.9 off target
Carly LTD 2.6 KILOS - 7 off target
Sherrie LTD 3.5 KILOS - 6 off target
Angelle LTD 800g - 10 off target
Chrissy LTD 1.4 KILOS - 5.7 off target

and last but not least Caz is maintaining and right on target so well done to her!

I decided that because we are all different body weights to start and all have different goals in this challenge that there can be more than one biggest loser overall - and thats anyone who gets to their goal weight at the end of the challenge, - but think about it if you fall a kilo short come last weigh in - your still so much closer to your ww goal its not funny!

Have a great weekend everyone, take care of yourselves, keep strong and stay honest! one day we'll get the hang of these weekends i promise xx

Phew

Had the world's hardest training session today - I think my trainer canes us on Fridays because we're going to have the weekend off...hmmm? Last week he made us run 10 sets of stairs, then run across a footbridge across the freeway, and I thought I'd die.

Today, lots of boxing and 50 trillion step ups ON A PARK BENCH - really high! I could hardly walk afterwards heh.

The good news is that according to my HR monitor, I burned 679 calories in an hour, so that's awesome! Fingers crossed I can reverse my gain and lose at least 700g this week... although I'll be happy to start by losing anything!

Have a great weekend everyone, and don't do anything I wouldn't do... mind you, that leave plenty of options...

Stayed the same

Hello ladies,

Well I stayed the same this week, but I am really happy with that- I had a minor meltdown at the beginning of the week and got out of control a bit as I was tired and emotional. Lots of stuff happening at the moment, so unfortunately my solution was to eat cheese and drink lots of wine :( Not the best choice, but at least I know the warning signals before I get into a situation like that again. I have taken on the challenge for this week and planned EVERY meal for the week. My weakness is the weekend- have always planned my food during the week easily enough, but I've always got the weekend and had whatever was left in the cupboard. Usually thats ok, cause I don't buy bad stuff, its only bad if 1. Have no food left, so go buy fast food instead 2. BF buys chips/chocolate and its just there and can't help myself!! The trick to my weekend planning is having food I love thats also good for you. So bring on next week's weigh-in!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and all the best for your weigh-ins next week x

STARTING TO LOSE AGAIN

Hi everyone,
Just checking in with my results. I lost 200g this week which aint brilliant, but its a start back in the right direction. Hopefully, this next week will be better because it will be my first full week with no rellies here(they just left last thursday). I do need to get mentally back in a good place because I've been slacking off big style for a while and it can be so hard getting back into a healthy way of living. Just yesterday, I had been doing good, sticking to my points, excercising , drinking loads of water, and then around 10ish ended up eating a bag of crisps and a kitkat!

Its like I knew I shouldn't but I didn't have the willpower not to. I know its not the end of the world, but because I've been so bad the past 3 weeks, I feel like such a loser(not in the good way!)
Anyway, like they say, tomorrow is another day, so just need to be stronger.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just feeling sorry for myself.(I'll snap out of it)

Well done to everyone else who lost and keep up the good work,
Karrie x

BIGGEST LOSER

I meant to add, what did we all think of BL over the weekend? Marty looked great didnt he. great to start seeing some real transformations! that will be us you know at the end of our challenge - keep that in sight!!!

OT - does anyone know what ever happened to the 10kg before easter challenge.. were any of you in that? it seems like its fallen through.. ive lost 7.6 in the ten week challenge so far, and have 3 weigh ins to lose 2.4 kilos.. right - thats my goal!!

Some other goals for this week

TRACK EVERYTHING
PLAN EVERYTHING
DAILY EXERCISE

DRINK LOADS OF WATER

Have a good week all.

Later in the week im going to post how far we've come in the 5 weeks of our BL challenge and how far we all have to our mini goals! keep at it girls your doing great!

TRY AGAIN

Hi guys, tried to post a few times last night but its not working from home - i lost 2.4kilos! I was stoked after a huge night celebrating my fiance's cricket grand final win! and he got best on ground! so we had a big night and i weighed in monday morning thinking - oh oh! i was bloated and very hung over, and i lost 2.4 kilos!!!! im now in the seventies, for the first time in the longest time - since school im sure! and i feel great, my pants are loose this week, im out of all the 16 stuff too, its 12/14s which is a big turn around from 12 months ago - 18/20! what a difference we can all make in our lives, its amazing to have so much power!! I hope you all have great weeks and look forward to hearing how you all went!!!

Oops...

Well - it finally happened. Jenn, I think you jinxed me!! For the first time in 15 weeks, I gained!! Only 700g, but poo!!

My only excuse is that it was my birthday week (very small piece of cake!), plus had a work dinner (indian, two glasses of wine) - and had a roadtrip down to the south coast for a friend's wedding. I genuinely did choose the best foods I could, but that still involved one Macca's breakfast (hash brown, bacon & egg mcmuffin) and one post-wedding fry up (bacon, egg, cheese roll).

Not to mention the oh.............10 or so glasses of cheap white that had me up all night after the wedding, donating calories to the porcelain bowl. Good lord, did I chuck a lot. I have decided I'm far too old to drink properly, so I think I may just give it away entirely. I'm getting so boring!!! Up at 5am for training, no smoking, no drinking.. no fun at all!! Heh.

This week, right back on track. .. goals for the week:
1. Drink 2.5-3.5 L/day - of water, rather than wine this week.
2. Reduce calorie target from 1550 to 1400 calories/day.
3. Exercise at least 500 calories off per day.

Hope everyone else did better than me!!

FEELS GREAT TO BE A 70s GIRL!

I did a Munnalita!!

As Jenn mentioned the weekend is where most of us come unstuck....

During the week I am usually pretty good, eat well, do at least 30mins of exercise (usually a bit more) but when I get to the weekend I just lose the plot!

Last weekend it was my dad's bday so we went to his house and had a lamb roast (better than the chinese we were going to have), ate a smaller portion than he dished up, was quite proud of myself as Lamb roast is one of my favs, but the problem was on the way there my brother decided to stop at Krispy Kreams!! arghhh... he is a junk food adict (he can eat and eat and eat and is still underweight!) We brought 26 doughnuts (mix of glazed and iced)!!! Before lunch he had already had 2! I shared half a doughnut with my dad and then had a glazed one that night, the next day I took 4 to work (3 for the guys and one for me) and somehow I had managed to fit the doughnuts into my days calories (with a bit of extra exercise) and still somehow managed to lose 600g.

But this weekend I headed to the local cheapo supermarket and whilst standing in line I saw my all time favorite choc bars Butterfingers and Baby Ruths!! I haven't had these in at least 18months (since I was on holiday in the States) so I got one for my brother, mum and myself (Had to stop myself from stocking up on them). I got home and ate my butterfinger all 270cals of it! then decided I couldn't wait until my brother came home to taste his Baby Ruth, so I ate my mums one!!

When Munnalita ate those 2 Mars Bars I was a bit shocked (mainly due to her justification- didn't seem like she had learn't anything) but then I went and did the same thing!!
After feeling a bit ill for a while (I think it was the guilt talking) I jumped on the exercise bike and worked so hard, skipped lunch and somehow worked off all those calories!

It's funny, I can easily go shopping at Coles/Safeway and not buy any chocolate, crisps etc, but seeing those chocolate bars just killed me! I definately wont be going back there to shop anymore!!

So anyway, after my chocolate binge I still managed to lose 900g, taking me to 72kg, but if I hadn't had them I may be in the 71 range now...oh well can't undo the past, just gotta keep moving forward....and stick to shopping lists!

Oh and I promise to never do a "Munnalita" again!!!!

HAVE A GREAT LONG WEEKEND (vics)

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend, enjoy the extra day if your in victoria and Ill catch you all next week - remember to keep active, stay honest, track everything and stick to your plan and points! (for those on the points plan) and have a great weekend - you deserve it! take care x
and well done, we've lost another 5 kilos combined this week. ill post the results once i get hilltopdreamers results..
HAVE A GREAT FAT BURNING WEEKEND

I'm losing again :)

Hello girls,

I'm happy to report a 1kg loss this week, so back in the losing game, which is good!! I am surprised as I did indulge a bit when I visited my folks last weekend, but I buckled down when I got back to Sydney and it obviously paid off! I'm up to doing 25 min runs in the C25K program, and I reckon thats the reason I am dropping weight like nothing else... well I am in comparison to how I had been going! I haven't lost weight at this rate since I first started WW. Thanks to you girls and especially Jenn for your encouragement- I can honestly say that thats the main source of day-to-day motivation for me and owe you so much!!! Hmmm, the end is so close I can almost taste it...

Have a lovely weekend, and good-luck for weigh-ins next week x

WELL DONE TO ALL THE LOSERS

Well done guys, there are some real consistencies and its great to see the kilos coming off even if it is slower than we like! I want to set a challenge for the next weigh in - I want to see some figures! we have dwindled from the first week and I want to see some power numbers next time you get on the scale, even if its just 100g more than what you usually get, or were hoping for! It just means being EXTRA good over the weekend, moving a bit more and sticking to your points, we all blow out in some way or another over the 2 day break, so even if its just extra important this weekend I want us all to do it! It will keep me extra honest too with a day at the cricket grand final on sunday.

but heres how ill tackle that - make my own platter with healthier options and keeping it close by! I will also limit my alcohol so that I can report a good loss when i weigh in the next day! Ill get my work out done in the morning so thats out of the way and count my points! we can all do this its just the little changes that we need to focus on! lets do it! I want us to beat this weeks weigh in if thats all! if you weigh mondays - yep you have 4 days to redeem what ever the first few days have been like or just to strive harder if thats all it takes!

Have a great week! keep that heart rate up, the food portions down, the water intake high and remember to smile! your changing your life! and inspiring mine!!

At least it was something

Hey girls congrats to all of you for your losses and efforts, my loss was only 100gs this week but at least it wasn't a gain!!!!! Hope you all have a great week mwa

STILL THE SAME

Hi everyone,

Sorry I still dont have much good news to report. I never lost, but I never gained either.

In a way I'm really surprised that I didn't gain - It must be all the walking I am doing when taking my family on day trips out. On Saturday, we went to the zoo and must have walked for about five or six hours with only about a half hour break for a bite to eat. That night my feet were killing me but I felt satisfaction to know that we all done something together AND exercised at the same time.

My sister goes back home on Thursday, so I will really work my but off when they go!

I missed the biggest loser last night(Mon) Could someone tell me who got voted out? Ta.

Anyway well done to everyone who loses this week and I will try harder to start getting the scales to go down soon!

Good luck to all, Karrie x

Weigh In

Down to 59kg this week, so a loss of 1kg even on maintenance... Am having a tough time with my personal life though, breaking up with my fiance last week, so I'm pretty sure that has something to do with the loss. But I'm trying to look after myself properly, and have friends looking out for me, so will make sure I don't go much lower than that... At least I'm not emotional eating I suppose - goes to show WW has taught me something! Well done on everyone's losses so far. Hope you all have a good week.
Well, I may have forgotten until I was in the shower wondering what date it was, but it's my birthday today! 32 yo, and as of last Saturday, I'm a happy non-smoker! I attended Allen Carr's EasyWay to Stop Smoking, and I already feel better - not sure if it's all in my mind, but don't care either!!

This week, I lost 600g, down to 94kg (total loss since Dec 1 = 11.6kg).

I've lost 600-700g for the last 6 weeks, which is getting annoying. Yes, I know it's in the recommended range, but I'm working so hard, I expect more! I've bought a HR monitor, so once that arrives I can't wait to increase my workout intensity and see what changes I get. I do notice it's hard to get my HR up on the treadmill now, even with slow jogging.

Well done Jenn, and hope everyone else has a good week's weigh in!

WEIGH INS AFTER 4 WEEKS!

FIRSTLY DO YOU REALISE IN THE FIRST THREE WEEKS WE LOST A TOTAL OF 14.4 KILOS and thats between 9 or 10 of us since some have either pulled out or not recorded their losses. So well done! thats a lot for our little group!

SO GUESS WHAT !! I lost 1.1 KILOS this week - and its TTOM this week!!!! I was stoked and so happy and proud of myself, besides my back being out this morning im pushing through and trying to feel better by training tonight! It shows what no alcohol on the weekend does! even though I had one celebratory glass on friday night when we won our tennis grand final! I counted it in my daily points though and it was fine!

Last night I sat down to watch the biggest loser and wrote up my plan for this week, very inspired, i was like a kid at christmas waiting to weigh in this morning! was very happy when i was under 83! The 70s are in sight sooner than I thought too!

I had a great work out weekend, an 8.2 km walk after work saturday morning.. seen my first snake too - did i mention mum had a snake in her living room on friday... (they are in the middle of town!) so that was a bit scary!! sunday i did my run/ride/swim then weights and felt awesome all day. went to a food and wine day and packed my sandwhich and bottles of water and refused all the pressure to drink, and the feeling I had on the scales this morning was worth it all! I havent felt this great in ages - besides the back and the headcold, so im very positive!

Anyway I better get into it, have a great week and cant wait to hear how you all went!!!

THIS WEEKS CHALLENGES

Okay we've got weigh ins starting from monday next week so lets make the weekend count and have some extra challenges over the weekend! Im setting myself a few already. NO GROG! Not a droplet! And no crap. Im going to reward my body with beautiful healthy nutritious food instead! Im going to work out friday saturday and sunday and I know ill see the benifits on monday! Its TTOM so that just means i have to bust my arse a bit more this weekend and ill be right!

THIS WEEK - everyone has to do over 10,000 steps on saturday and sunday - if you dont have a pedometer, you have to do an hours walk each day.

On one of the days over the weekend (both if your keen) get down and give me 10 - I want you all to do 3 sets of 10 of the following! sit ups, push ups, squats and bench ups (put your back to a bench/chair) and lower yourself with your arms and up again! do this quick work out after your walk and you will feel EVEN better! tone those arms and belly to burn up some more fat for weigh in!

STEER CLEAR of fatty foods and if in doubt think of Me! Ill be after you next week! Or think you have to answer to shannon or michelle on the biggest loser and I dont think youll be touching anything naughty!

And last but not least - have a bloody fantastic break!

BIGGEST LOSER RESULTS AFTER WEEK 3

Hi ladies, well done on another good week to all of you who lost - to all of you who did not - take these positives out of the week and we expect good results from you all next weigh in!!

- NO ONE HAS GAINED THIS WEEK! (thats with out hearing back from wendy in a couple of weeks and hill top dreamer this week) and thats compared to SIX - gaining last week! (chrissy have put yours down for last week!)

- All of you have been accountable - by posting a no change, you've aknowledged it, and realised where you could improved! well done!

-And for the four of you who stayed the same this week - your the same, you havent taken any steps backwards, so next week is looking very bright for you all!!

WELL DONE TO THIS WEEKS BIGGEST LOSER -
ANGELLE !!! 1.2 KILOS OF FAT - GONE FOR GOOD!!!

OTHER LOSERS WERE

BOUNCINGSOUL lost 1.1
JENNA lost 900g
GEN lost 700g
CHERYL lost 200g

Well done chicks, keep focused, keep moving, track track track and set yourselves some challenges!!!

All the best for a really good week this week!

No loss

Hello girlies,

Well, no loss for me this week, but on the upside, no gain either! This week, I ate a bit more than I normally do and my body wasn't really into exercise- I felt like lead for some of my workouts. I did have a workout last night, and felt really into it, so feel more renewed about committing to it this week ahead. My challenge this weekend is avoiding indulgence as I am visiting my parents- so not only do I have to avoid being spoilt, but as we have to travel 4 hours each way to my home town, I have to avoid junk food on the road! But I've chucked some fruit in my handbag, so should be strong enough :) Hope everyone has a great weekend full of good choices and good luck for weigh-ins next week! xx

LATE FOR MY WEIGH IN

Hi girls,

Sorry its taken me so long to write in but my internet access has been playing up and Ive not been online. Well, I didnt lose anything this week - not so inspiring to you other girls. You all seem to be doing so well again. Well done to you.

I know its no excuse but still having my sis and her family staying really is hard work food wise. We end up going out for dinner a lot more and even if I order the healthier options, its still more indulging than I am used to. Then there is the drink. I wont even go into that!

So sorry I am not being as strong as I should, but I promise when they go back to Scotland, you will see (so to speak) a new me.

Karrie x
